Build a LARP App With GPT-6 Astra (Free for Students) and the Higgsfield API

This is the full build from the video. GPT-6 Astra builds the whole app in Codex, and the Higgsfield API does every image inside it. Both prompts are below, ready to paste.

Step 1. Get ChatGPT free if you're a student

OpenAI is giving four free months of ChatGPT Plus, including ChatGPT Work, to U.S. college students. That's the plan this whole build runs on.

🎓 Claim the student offer

  1. Open the offer page and tap Claim free offer.
  2. Verify you're a student. OpenAI uses SheerID, so have your school email ready. Some schools send you through their own sign-in instead.
  3. Claim it by October 31.

It's open to full-time and part-time students at eligible U.S. degree-granting schools. A new subscription asks for a payment method. You're not charged during the four months, and it renews at $20 a month after that unless you cancel, so set a reminder.

Don't waste it on homework.

Step 2. Find what people already pay for

Before you build anything, look at what's already earning. These sites show real apps and what they make:

  • TrustMRR, a database of verified startup revenues
  • Arrfounder, real founders and real revenue
  • IdeaWave, a revenue leaderboard you can filter by category

Filter to AI image and video. That's where the simple money is.

The example in the video is Hairly AI. It shows you what you'd look like with a different haircut, and IdeaWave lists it at about $11.9K a month in verified recurring revenue.

One photo in, one edited photo out. That's the shape you want.

Step 3. Ride a trend instead of copying

You could clone Hairly AI. There's a better idea.

The LARPing trend is everywhere right now: normal photos, suddenly rich. A Rolls-Royce at the curb. A private jet in the background. People already make these by hand and post them.

So the app is LarpMax. Upload any photo, pick a flex, and it comes back looking like it really happened. Same shape as Hairly AI, riding a trend people already share for free.

Step 4. Have ChatGPT write the build prompt

Here's the trick. You don't ask for the app. You ask for the prompt that builds the app.

This is exactly what I typed into ChatGPT. For a different trend, swap the name and the description and keep the last line.

Copy-paste this
Generate a prompt to create the web app called LarpMax. Basically you can upload any photo and then add any high value item, like an AP watch, or add a Rolls-Royce, and much more. Get creative, you get the trend. Comprehensive prompt, it should use the Higgsfield API.

Or skip straight to the LarpMax build prompt

This is the build prompt, cleaned up and complete, with everything the finished app had in the video, down to the pricing page. Paste it straight into Codex in Step 6.

Copy-paste this
You are GPT-6 Astra. Build LarpMax, a polished, mobile-first web app that turns an ordinary user photo into an outrageous, photorealistic luxury flex.

A user uploads a selfie, street photo, vacation photo or room photo, chooses what to add, and gets an edited image where the new objects look physically present. Think "what if this casual photo had an Audemars Piguet watch, a Rolls-Royce at the curb and a private jet in the background?" The tone is playful, aspirational and internet-native. The output should feel like an expensive editorial shoot, not a sticker pasted onto a photo.

Build a working product, not a landing-page mockup. Implement the upload, editing, generation, history and export flows end to end.

GENERATION
- Use the official Higgsfield API for every image generation and edit, and for optional image-to-video where the chosen model supports it.
- Read the current docs at https://docs.higgsfield.ai before writing any request. Use each model's own documentation as the authority for its parameters. Do not invent endpoints, and do not claim a model supports masks or reference images unless its docs say so.
- Store the key in HIGGSFIELD_API_KEY, server side only. Never send it to the browser.
- Generation is asynchronous: submit the job, poll until it finishes, save the result URL, and show real progress in the UI. A failed job gets a retry button and a clear message, never a blank screen.

THE FLOW
1. Landing page: headline "Reality is a suggestion." with an upload button and a before and after example.
2. Upload: accept JPG, PNG and HEIC from the camera roll or the camera. Require a checkbox: "I have permission to edit this photo."
3. Pick a flex: scenario presets grouped into packs. The Arrival (supercar at the curb, valet, red carpet). The Scene (penthouse, yacht deck, private jet stairs). Small Details (luxury watch, designer bag, diamond chain). Absurd but Cinematic (helicopter on the lawn, gold everything). Add a free-text field for the user's own details.
4. A "How loud?" slider from Subtle to Absurd that controls how much gets added.
5. Variations: 1 to 3 per run, with the credit cost shown before generating.
6. Result screen: before and after side by side, full-resolution download, regenerate, and "Save to My Realities".
7. History: a "My Realities" gallery of every past generation.

SHARE LOOP
On the result screen add a step called "Give them something to talk about". The user picks Instagram, TikTok or X, adds their handle, and gets a caption written for that platform. Default caption: Same me. Different tax bracket. ✨ #LarpMax #AlternateReality
Size the image for each platform. Every shared image carries a small "AI-edited" label.

PRICING
A pricing page titled "Choose your tax bracket" with monthly and yearly billing.
- Casually Rich, free: a few credits to try it, watermarked output.
- Main Character, $19/month: 250 credits a month, up to 3 variations at a time, reference image editing, full-resolution JPG and PNG, every scenario pack.
- Generational Wealth, $49/month: 800 credits a month, everything in Main Character, unlimited saved realities, advanced creative controls, early access to new flexes.
Use Stripe in test mode. Credits come off per generation, and the price of every credit must stay above what that generation costs on Higgsfield.

ACCOUNTS AND QUALITY
Email sign-in, a credit balance in the header, and an admin page that lists generations and failures. Mobile first, fast, dark luxury styling with gold accents. Handle empty states, errors and slow generations gracefully.

When you finish, run the app, test one real generation end to end, and tell me exactly what to set in the environment to deploy it.

Step 5. Get your Higgsfield API key

One key gives the app the whole Higgsfield model catalog, so you never wire up an image service yourself.

⚡ Open the Higgsfield API console

  1. Tap here to open the console and sign in.
  2. Open API keys and create one. Name it after your app.
  3. Copy it and store it somewhere safe. It's only shown once.

New accounts had $15 of free API credit when I filmed this, which covers a lot of test generations.

Treat the key like a password. It goes in an environment variable on the server, never in the browser or a screenshot. If one ever ends up on screen, delete it in the console and make a new one.

Step 6. Build it in Codex on GPT-6 Astra

Open Codex and start a new project folder for the app. Set the model to GPT-6 Astra. Medium is enough.

Paste the build prompt. Then paste your API key with one line: put this in .env.local as HIGGSFIELD_API_KEY. Send it.

Within minutes you have a working app, not a mockup. Test it before you change anything. Upload one real photo and watch the result come back.

The line that wires the API properly

If the build puts the key in the wrong place or skips the progress states, paste this and it fixes it.

Copy-paste this
Every image and video generation in this app goes through the Higgsfield API.

Read the docs at docs.higgsfield.ai, pick the model that fits each job, and store the key in HIGGSFIELD_API_KEY, server side only, never in the browser.

Submit the job, poll until it finishes, store the result URL, and show real progress in the UI. Handle a failed generation with a retry and a clear message, never a blank screen.

Free accounts get one watermarked result. Paying accounts get clean output.

Step 7. Make every flex an advert

Every LarpMax result is a post waiting to happen. In the video the app has a share screen that posts to Instagram, TikTok and X with the caption already written, so your users market it for you.

If your build skipped it, paste this.

Copy-paste this
Add a share step to the result screen called "Give them something to talk about".

Let the user pick Instagram, TikTok or X, add their handle, and get a caption written for that platform. Default caption: Same me. Different tax bracket. ✨ #LarpMax #AlternateReality

Size the image for each platform and post in one tap. Every shared image carries a small AI-edited label.

Watermark the free tier's output with the app name. Paid users get it clean.

The pricing page it built

The prompt asks for pricing, and Astra came back with the best-named pricing page I've seen: Choose your tax bracket.

  • Casually Rich, free, a taste of the other side
  • Main Character, $19 a month, 250 credits and up to 3 variations at a time
  • Generational Wealth, $49 a month, 800 credits and unlimited saved realities

Keep the math simple. Every credit has to cost your user more than that generation costs you on Higgsfield. Check the per-model price in the console and set the credits so every tier stays above it.

Keep it fun, keep it honest

LarpMax is a joke people are in on. Keep it that way.

The build includes a permission checkbox on upload and an AI-edited label on every share. Leave both in. Only edit photos you have permission to use, and never use a fake flex to mislead anyone about money.

Use your own app name and logo too. Putting a Rolls-Royce in someone's photo is the product. Using Rolls-Royce's logo in your marketing is not.

If you'd rather reverse engineer an existing app from its reviews first, that's the two-prompt method.

Frequently asked questions

For eligible U.S. college students, yes. You get four free months of ChatGPT Plus, including ChatGPT Work. You verify through SheerID with your school email and claim by October 31. It needs a payment method and renews at $20 a month unless you cancel. Claim it here.

No. GPT-6 Astra in Codex writes and runs the app. Your job is pasting the prompt and testing what comes back.

You pay per generation, and it's cents per image. New accounts had $15 in free credit when this was filmed. Create a key and the console shows current pricing per model.

Yes. The video uses Codex because it builds straight into a project folder on your computer. ChatGPT Work can do the same build in the browser, which is how the Higgsfield API app clone was made.

Editing your own photos for fun is fine. Get permission before editing anyone else's photo, and label the results as AI (the share step does it for you). Don't use them to mislead anyone, and keep brand logos out of your own app's name and marketing.
