Give Claude Full Access to Your Robinhood (The Full Setup)
Robinhood just opened its platform to AI agents, so you can connect Claude straight to a Robinhood account and let it research, watch, and even place trades for you. This is the full walkthrough from the video. Read the safety section first. This is brand new, it is not financial advice, and you should only ever use a separate sandbox account with money you can afford to lose.
Before you start, read this
This is a brand new beta and it is powerful. A few rules that keep you out of trouble: Use a separate sandbox account. Robinhood lets you open a dedicated agentic account, fund only that, and the agent can never touch your main portfolio. Start small. Only deposit what you are genuinely fine losing while you learn how it behaves. Keep approvals on. You can make the agent ask permission before every trade. Do that while you are learning, even though you can flip everything to always allow. This is not financial advice. The AI can be wrong, act on outdated information, and Robinhood's own warning says these agents can move too fast to stop in real time. You are responsible for every trade it places.
Step 1 - Get access to the Robinhood agentic beta
Open the link below on a computer, opt into the agentic trading beta, and open your dedicated agentic account. Heads up: Robinhood only lets you set this up and approve the agent on a desktop, not the phone app.
robinhood.com/agentStep 2 - Connect Claude to your Robinhood
You only need one link for this, and the exact same link works on every version of Claude. Copy it now, you will paste it in a second:
https://agent.robinhood.com/mcp/tradingStep 2a - Claude Desktop or Cowork (easiest, no code)
The simple point and click way. In the Claude desktop app, or in Cowork, on a computer: 1. Click Settings. 2. Open the Connectors tab. 3. Click Add custom connector. 4. Name it Robinhood. 5. In the link or URL box, paste the link from above: https://agent.robinhood.com/mcp/trading 6. Click Add, then Connect. 7. A Robinhood window pops up. Log in and approve access. That is it, Claude is connected. If you do not see a Connectors tab, update Claude to the latest version first.
Step 2b - Claude Code (only if you use the terminal)
Prefer the terminal? Skip the menus. Paste this one line, then type /mcp inside Claude Code, pick robinhood-trading from the list, and approve the login:
claude mcp add robinhood-trading --transport http https://agent.robinhood.com/mcp/tradingStep 3 - Create and fund the agentic account
Once connected, Robinhood creates a dedicated agentic trading account, completely separate from your normal portfolio. Fund it with an amount you are comfortable losing. Start small. This is the only money your agent can ever access, so it is your hard safety limit.
Step 4 - Set the agent's permissions
Your agent now has hundreds of tools to read your account, research the market, and place trades. Robinhood lets you moderate it: you can require approval before specific actions, or set tools to always allow. The recommendation while you are learning is to keep trades on Needs Approval, so nothing happens without your tap. You can loosen it later once you trust it.
Step 5 - Build your watchlist with deep research
This is the first prompt from the video. Claude will ask you a couple of questions about your risk tolerance and how many names you want, then it spins up multiple research agents in parallel to dig through the sector and build a watchlist to your criteria. Paste this:
Do deep research on undervalued stocks related to semiconductors and AI then create a watchlist of the best ones using the Robinhood connector.Step 6 - Set the scheduled trading task
This is the second prompt. It turns Claude into a scheduled task that runs on its own. Every market open it checks your watchlist, looks for an entry, and asks your permission before it places anything. You stay in control of every trade. Paste this:
Act as a professional hedge fund trading specialist. Create a scheduled task that checks this watchlist every market open and notifies me if there is a good trade entry and ask my permission to place the trade.Stay safe
Quick recap of the guardrails: Sandbox account only, never your main one. Start with a small amount. Keep trades on Needs Approval while you learn. It is not financial advice and the AI can be wrong. Robinhood warns these agents can move too fast to stop and can act on bad information. You can disconnect the agent instantly at any time, and you get a notification on every action it takes. Use those.
Claude is a beast, here is what else you can have it do
Once it is connected, the watchlist and the scheduled task are just the start. Tap to copy any of these into the same chat:
Risk x-ray
Analyze my whole account for risk and concentration and tell me what is overexposed.Morning brief
Every morning before open, brief me on my watchlist, the overnight news, and what is moving.Earnings radar
Alert me the moment any name on my watchlist reports earnings or gets an analyst upgrade or downgrade.Unusual activity watch
Watch for unusual volume or options activity on my watchlist and ping me.Social sentiment
Compare my watchlist to what is trending on X and Reddit and flag anything with building hype.Weekly refresh
Every Sunday, re-run the research and tell me if a new name belongs on the list.End of day recap
After close, recap what moved today and why in one short message.Position-size guardrail
Never let any single position be more than 10 percent of the account, and tell me if it drifts past that.Explain like I am five
Before I buy anything, explain the company and the risk to me in plain English. One last thing
This is brand new and genuinely powerful. Start in the sandbox, keep approvals on, and never risk what you cannot lose. Be safe out there.
