Turn One Product Photo Into a 3D Model Your Customers Can Spin (Artlist AI Toolkit)
One photo of my shoe went into Artlist and a full 3D model came out a few minutes later. Then I put it on the actual listing so customers can spin it. This is every step, the exact prompt, and the paste that gets it onto your store.
What you're making
One photo in, one interactive 3D model out. Artlist has a 3D generator built into its AI Toolkit, running Hunyuan 3D v3.1 Pro. You give it a product photo, it builds the model, and you download it as a GLB file.
A GLB is the one 3D format every modern browser can show as a spinning, zoomable object. Shopify takes it straight into your product media. Your own site takes it with one paste from this guide. Works with legit any product. I used a sneaker.
Step 1: Open the 3D generator
⚡ Open Artlist
- Tap here to open Artlist and sign in.
- In the left menu, under Generate, click 3D.
- You get a prompt box with an image slot next to it. That's the whole tool.
Step 2: Drop your photo in and paste the prompt
Drag your product photo into the image slot. It shows up as @img1, your image reference. Now paste the prompt below. Set the model to Hunyuan 3D v3.1 Pro and the quality to High, then hit Generate.
It takes a few minutes. Then boom, your product is spinning in the viewer.
Create a 3D model of this. The photo that gets it right the first time
One product on a plain background. The most detailed side facing the camera. The model only knows what it can see, so a photo with your hand in it gives you a hand. If the back comes out soft, run it again with a photo of the back.
Starting from text instead of a photo
The 3D tab takes text too. Leave the image slot empty and describe the product the way a spec sheet would. Material, colors, where each color sits, and one object only. Here's the shape of the prompt I used for the second shoe in the video.
A single premium low-top sneaker, realistic proportions. Cream leather upper, cobalt blue heel and toe panels, light grey accents. White laces, visible stitching and sole construction. Clean sportswear silhouette. One shoe only, centered, true to scale.Step 3: Download the GLB
Click Download at the top of the result panel. You get a .glb file. That one file is the whole model with the textures baked in. Name it something simple, like forma-01.glb, because you'll type it in the next step.
Step 4: Put it on your listing
Now here's where it gets crazy. That GLB goes straight onto your product page.
On Shopify: open the product, go to Media, and upload the .glb the same way you'd upload a photo. Shopify shows it as a 3D model in the gallery.
On your own site: paste the block below where the product photo sits and swap the src for your file name. It's Google's free model-viewer and it runs in every browser. Your customers drag to spin and scroll to zoom.
<script type="module" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/model-viewer/4.1.0/model-viewer.min.js"></script>
<model-viewer src="forma-01.glb" alt="Forma 01 sneaker, interactive 3D" camera-controls auto-rotate shadow-intensity="1" style="width: 100%; height: 480px; background: #f5f5f5;"></model-viewer>Or hand it to your AI
If an AI built your store, or you have Claude or ChatGPT open, give it the file and this prompt. It wires the viewer in, keeps your photos as the fallback and leaves the rest of the page alone. This is the exact setup you saw on my listing in the video, Interactive 3D badge included.
I have a 3D model of my product as a GLB file at [path to your .glb]. Add an interactive 3D viewer to my product page using Google's model-viewer web component, loaded from the Google CDN. Turn on camera controls and auto-rotate. Put a small 'Interactive 3D' badge above the viewer and a 'Drag to explore. Scroll to zoom.' hint under it. Keep my existing product photos as thumbnails the customer can switch back to. Match the page's current fonts and colors. Change nothing else on the page.Get the next one first

It's part of Artlist's AI Toolkit, which runs on an Artlist plan. Open Artlist through this link to see the current plans and what's included. The viewer you put on your own site, Google's model-viewer, is free.
No. On Shopify you upload the GLB like a photo. On your own site you paste one block. If an AI built your site, the prompt in this guide does the wiring for you.
A .glb file, the standard 3D format for the web. Shopify accepts it natively in product media, and model-viewer plays it in every modern browser, phones included.
Yes. Anything you can photograph cleanly on a plain background. One object per photo, with the most detailed side facing the camera. Shiny or see-through products are the hardest, so give those the clearest photo you have.
A few minutes in my runs. Hit Generate, go make a coffee, and come back to a spinning model.
