Build a Viral Peekaboo Login Page With AI (Replit, No Code)
You have seen the login pages where little characters follow your cursor, cover their eyes when you type your password, peek when you reveal it, and dance when you sign in. Here is exactly how to build one with Replit and AI, no code, just two prompts.
What you're building
A single-page peekaboo login form where two cute characters react to everything you do:
- their eyes follow your mouse around the screen
- they watch the text as you type your email
- they cover their eyes the second you click into the password field
- they peek through their fingers when you hit show password
- they break into a dance when you sign in
It is the kind of thing that goes viral on its own and makes a killer portfolio piece. And you build it without writing a line of code.
Step 1: Open Replit (grab $10 free first)
Replit builds full working web apps from a plain prompt. Use my link to start with $10 in free credits, that is enough to build this whole thing for free.
Once you are in, create a new app and turn on Design mode. That is where you generate the look before the build.
Step 2: Generate your characters
Generate the characters first so you can pick a style you love before building anything. In Design mode, paste this:
Generate cute cartoon characters for a peekaboo login form. I want two friendly round blob creatures with big expressive eyes, little arms, soft pastel colors, and a happy playful vibe. They need to be designed so their eyes can follow a cursor and their arms can come up to cover their eyes. Give me a few style options to choose from.Pick one and tweak it
You will get a few different character designs. Choose the one you like most, then give it any tweaks in plain English, for example:
"Make them happier." "Make them purple." "Give them rosy cheeks."
Keep nudging until they look exactly how you want.
Step 3: The one-shot build prompt
This is the one. Paste this and Replit builds the entire working peekaboo login form in a single shot, with every behavior wired up. It is long on purpose, the detail is what makes it work first try.
Build a polished single-page "peekaboo" login form as a web app. Stack: React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, fully client side, no backend.
LAYOUT: a centered login card on a soft pastel gradient background. The card has a heading, an email input, a password input with a show/hide eye toggle, a "Sign in" button, and a small "forgot password" link. Sitting on top of the card are two cute round cartoon characters (friendly blobs with big eyes and little arms) that react to the user.
CHARACTER BEHAVIOR (make every transition smooth with spring easing):
1. IDLE: the characters' pupils follow the mouse cursor anywhere on the screen, with gentle spring physics so they feel alive and are always looking at the pointer.
2. TYPING EMAIL: while the email field is focused, the characters lean toward it and their eyes track the text caret left to right as the user types.
3. PASSWORD FOCUS: the instant the password field is focused, both characters raise their arms and cover their eyes with their hands so they cannot peek, and they stay covered the whole time the password field is active.
4. REVEAL PASSWORD: when the user clicks the eye toggle to show the password, the characters peek, they spread two fingers and one eye looks through, mischievous. They cover up again when it is hidden.
5. SUCCESS: when the form is submitted with a non-empty email and password, play a happy celebration, the characters jump, spin, and confetti falls, and a "Welcome back!" message appears. There is no real auth, accept any input as success.
POLISH: 60fps animations using CSS transforms and Framer Motion, spring physics on the eye tracking, a satisfying button press, fully responsive on mobile, accessible labels on every input, and a clean modern aesthetic. Make the characters genuinely cute and expressive. Deliver it working in a single shot, runnable immediately.Step 4: Publish it live
When you are happy with the result, hit Publish (Deploy) on Replit to make it live with a real shareable URL. Drop it in your portfolio, post it, or send it to a client to win the job on the spot.
Bonus: 3 character themes
Do not run the same blobs everyone else has. After it works, restyle the characters with this and pick a theme, the behavior stays identical:
Take the peekaboo login form and restyle the characters to a new theme, keeping ALL the behavior identical (eyes follow the cursor, cover eyes on the password field, peek on reveal, dance on success). Just change the character design and color palette. Themes to try: cute animals (cats and foxes), little monsters, friendly robots, or kawaii food characters.Bonus: turn it into money
This is more than a fun page. A few ways to cash it in:
- Sell it as a template on a marketplace, themed login pages sell because they are hard to build by hand.
- Use it to land web clients. Show a business this and they will pay you to build their site, it instantly proves you can do things their last developer could not.
- Portfolio bait. A live peekaboo login at the top of your portfolio gets you remembered.
Pair it with the clone a profitable SaaS workflow and you have a full build-and-sell pipeline.
Bonus: extra polish prompts
Run these one at a time once the core works, to take it from cute to genuinely impressive:
Polish passes you can run one at a time:
- Add a soft pop sound when the characters cover their eyes, and a celebration sound on the success dance.
- Add a dark mode toggle in the corner.
- Make the characters blink occasionally when idle.
- Add a subtle parallax so the whole card tilts slightly toward the cursor.Related guides

Frequently asked questions
No. You describe what you want in plain English and Replit writes and runs all the code. The two prompts in this guide do the whole build.
Replit has a free tier, and my link gives you $10 in free credits, which is more than enough to build and publish this. You can do the whole thing without paying.
Yes. Themed, animated login pages are genuinely hard to build by hand, so they sell well as templates and they win you freelance web clients. The page is yours once you build it.
The detail is the point. The more precisely you describe each character behavior, the more likely Replit nails it in one shot instead of you going back and forth. Paste it exactly as written.
Yes, that exact behavior is spelled out in the prompt: arms up and eyes covered the moment the password field is focused, then a peek when you reveal it. That is the whole magic of the page.
